One on one
A private session just for you: a rune cast read through the old verses, the stories behind the staves, and time to sit with what they show. What is said stays between the two of you.
Náttrún, written in Younger Futhark runes
Icelandic witch (völva), rune caster and storyteller. The sixteen staves of the Younger Futhark, the old stories of the North, and the magic of the land they came from.
Nordic fortune telling
You are in the right place, with one honest correction. For an Icelandic völva, the most authentic runes to call on are the sixteen staves of the Younger Futhark, the runes of the Viking Age. Most rune sets sold today use the older twenty-four-rune Elder Futhark, which had gone out of use before Iceland was even settled.
The staves speak in images, not verdicts. They guide us to symbols and stories, and those lead to real and practical magic: spells, bindings, blessings, folk remedies and meditations. That is the work Náttrún does.
Rune casting
Náttrún casts the staves and reads each one through the meaning the old texts give it. The medieval Icelandic and Norwegian rune poems are the oldest record of what the sixteen staves mean, and each verse is a riddle of images.
The image becomes the thing to work with: a question to sit with, a story to hear, a spell, a binding or a blessing to carry home. A casting can be for you alone, one on one, or for everyone at the table.
Storytelling
Gods and giants from the Eddas. Witches, seeresses and feuds from the Icelandic sagas. The tales Icelanders still tell about their land: hidden people in the rocks, trolls in the mountains, the dead who will not stay buried. And what the runes meant to the people who carved them.

An intimate session for a family or a small circle of friends, pitched to whoever is at the table, from children to grandparents. Stories, a rune cast for the group, and time for questions.
For company events, private celebrations and VIP or luxury occasions, Náttrún works directly with event planners and bookers, and often alongside Mink Viking Portrait on large events in Reykjavík. References on request.
In person in Iceland, or remotely by video call from anywhere in the world. Sessions are held in English or Icelandic.
About Náttrún
Náttrún was born in Iceland and is Nordic through and through. She lives in the countryside outside Reykjavík, under the mountain Esja and by the sea, and her work begins with this island: how Nordic witchcraft and magic grew out of the land of Iceland and the people who live on it.
She has also trained in Native North American traditions and in South American traditions in Peru and Colombia, and she is a student of where these paths meet: what each of them knows about the land, about healing, and about the unseen.
Nátt is night; rún is a rune, and in Old Norse also a secret, something whispered. Written as a Viking-age carver would write it: one stave for each sound, the double t carved once and the long vowels left unmarked.
